Appalachian has been listed consistently among the top 15 "Southern Regional Universities" since US News & World Report first published rankings in 1986.
"America's Best Colleges" and "Best Values" are annual rankings published by US News & World Report recognizing the nation's top institutions of higher education. College and University rankings are based on 6 categories: academic reputation, graduation and retention rates, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources, and alumni giving.
