Your First Connections' checklist will include a link to the housing application after you receive your admission decision letter.

On campus housing not guaranteed for transfer students

Appalachian cannot guarantee on-campus housing for transfer students. Transfer students are assigned housing after freshmen and returning students have been assigned. To improve your chances of getting on-campus housing, respond quickly to your admission offer quickly and return the non-refundable advance payment right away.

Housing Options

On-campus - Appalachian's 19 residence halls house over 4,900 students. The halls vary in size and style, with accommodations ranging from double rooms to suites and apartments. Most halls provide study rooms, lounges, and some halls even have kitchenettes. Appalachian's Mountaineer Apartments are designed for married students, single parents, and nontraditional students.

Except for married students and students living with parents or a guardian, all freshmen are required to live in university housing.

Appalachian provides resources and assistance for those living off campus. Visit the Off Campus web site for information about where to live, safety and security, community events, and help finding a roommate.
