Orientation
Milestones, for spring '08 admits
- Ongoing (and after your receive your AppalNet account information in the mail)- check your AppalNet e-mail weekly for important news for incoming students.
- Mar 1 - Orientation registration available. Look for an email regarding Your Enrollment Checklist (after you send in your non-refundable advance payment).
- May 2 - Last day to apply for Trailhead Academies.
- May 23 - deadline for any required placement tests to be completed before your Orientation session.
- May 23 (or before your Orientation session) submit your Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) test scores (if applicable)
- May 20 - deadline for new First Session Summer School students to register for Orientation.
- Jul 1 – deadline for new Second Summer Session students to have attended Orientation. Students entering in Second Summer Session must attend an orientation session prior to the beginning of summer school and cannot attend the August Make-up Orientation session.
- Jul 1 -deadline for new Fall students to have attended Orientation or registered for the August Make-up Session.
- Jul 1 - deadline to submit your Report of Medical History/Immunization Form.
- Aug 23-25 - Orientation Phase 2.
Orientation will help you explore Appalachian's academic and social life and make a smooth transition to our campus. During Orientation, advisors will help you plan a program of study specific to your needs, skills and interests. In addition, you will have an opportunity to meet with professors in your area of interest and, of course, other new students. All new students, freshmen and transfer students, are required to attend Orientation.
Parking Update. Parking accomodations have been changed. Students will park in the stadium parking lot on Stadium Drive not in the Rivers Street Parking Deck.
Register
After you send in your non-refundable advance payment, Appalachian will e-mail you a confirmation of your payment and information about registering for your Orientation session. Follow the instructions provided; you'll be directed to an online registration form.
Registration Update. During the registration process, you will be able to choose from open sessions only. Sessions with full enrollment are closed and will not be listed. Wait lists are not maintained for closed sessions. If enough reservations are dropped from a closed session, the session date will re-open and will be available on the registration form. If you would like to try to register for a closed session, please visit the registration form frequently to check its availability.
