Transferring In

Milestones, for spring '08 admits

  • Ongoing (and after your receive your AppalNet account information in the mail)- check your AppalNet e-mail weekly for important news for incoming students.
  • Jul 1 - deadline to submit your Report of Medical History/Immunization Form.
  • Jul 1 -deadline to have attended an Orientation session or have registered for the August make-up session.
  • Aug 1 - deadline to submit any final college transcripts to the Office of Admissions.
  • August 19, 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. - move-in day for transfer students attending the August 20 Orientation session
  • August 22, specific move in times will be assigned - move-in day for transfer students attending a June Orientation session.
  • Aug 23-25 - Orientation Phase 2.

As a transfer student, you're an important part of the Appalachian community. And you're not alone: you'll be joining hundreds of other students who are transferring to Appalachian from other colleges and universities.

We think you'll find it easy to become part of life in the classrooms and labs, on the athletic fields, and through student groups and campus events.

Move-In days for transfer students living on campus

  • August 19, 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. - move-in day for transfer students attending the August 20 Orientation session
  • August 22, specific move in times will be assigned - move-in day for transfer students attending a June Orientation session.

On campus housing - not guaranteed

If you're interested in the possibility of living on campus, we encourage you to apply, but unfortunately, Appalachian is unable to guarantee on-campus housing for transfer students. Transfer students are assigned housing after freshmen and returning students have been assigned. To improve your chances of getting on-campus housing, respond quickly to your admission offer quickly and return the non-refundable advance payment right away.

Off campus living

Appalachian provides resources and assistance for those living off campus. Visit the Off Campus web site for information about where to live, safety and security, community events, and help finding a roommate.
